Yes — and the differences matter. Tasmania only accepts AS/NZS 2063 helmets (a European EN 1078 helmet isn't legal there). QLD now caps footpath speed at 12 km/h with fines up to $1,986 (since 1 July 2026), and from 31 August 2026 riders 16+ need a learner licence and under-16s are banned from public roads and paths (a supervised 12–17 exemption is being finalised).
